PUNCHING KNIFE for TEAR PROGRESSION RESISTANCE
The tear propagation resistance test determines whether and to what extent an existing tear can withstand tearing using a tear testing machine. By punching with a punching knife that complies with the required standard, the test piece can be produced with a notch. The DIN 34-1 standard is used in particular for the tear propagation testing of elastomers. The most common standards are DIN 34-1 Type A strip test, DIN 34-1 Type B angle test, and DIN 34-1 Type C.
