SAMPLE PUNCH for SURFACE WEIGHT
When determining the surface weight according to DIN EN ISO 536, a sample measuring exactly 100 cm² is punched and weighed. The punched sample should not be influenced by humidity, as this could distort the results. A round sample is recommended. This sample can be punched reproducibly using a precise punching knife. A punch with a punch and die is also suitable. This depends on the material being tested.
